Sinopec Energy Lanka First 40,000 Ton Consignments of Fuel Docked at Colombo Port

Colombo, August 1st, 2023 - Sinopec Energy Lanka (Private) Limited announced the arrival of its first two consignments carried by SICHOUZHILU and CHANGHANGZHILU with around 40,000 tons of fuel products at Colombo Port on August 1st , 2023. 

 

The consignments comprised 95 UNL, 10PPM Diesel, 92 UNL and 500PPM Diesel. These quality fuel products underscore Sinopec's commitment to delivering excellence and reliability to the country.

 

On May 22nd 2023, Sinopec entered into the long term contract with the Ministry of Power and Energy of Sri Lanka for importation, storage, distribution and sale of petroleum products. According to the contract, Sinopec Energy Lanka (Private) Limited, the newly incorporated local company, was granted a specialized operating license by the government on July 11th. Hence, a significant milestone was achieved as the company signed the agreement with the Board of Investment (BOI) of Sri Lanka in Colombo on 14th of July.

 

With the arrival of the first consignments, preparations for the smooth and stable business operations are well underway. Sinopec Energy Lanka proceeds with preparations leading up to the business operations of 150 franchise filling stations. The process involves step-by-step handovers, branding replacements, and comprehensive operations.
